SPECIAL CONTRIBUTIONS
COCHLEAR IMPLANTS PROGRAM
For many years, the Foundation has been making monthly donations to this program. The implant is an electronic device that requires surgery, in order to improve hearing for deaf people or those suffering from hearing impairments.
Our organization’s contribution has allowed implanted children to access free rehabilitation therapies that are essential for achieving a successful process. Psychologists, technicians and specialized teachers accompany the children and their families before and after surgery, and work with them on auditory stimulation and development of speech.
OBSERVERSHIPS
In an agreement with Mayo Clinic and the Uruguayan Pediatric Society, the Foundation funds travelling and accommodation expenses for two pediatricians per year, so they can participate in the Clinic’s Visiting Clinicians Program.

UNIQUER
In March 2021, the Foundation donated a state-of-the-art portable resuscitation cart with a capnograph and a heart defibrillator to the Unit for Burned Children and Reconstructive Surgery (UNIQUER) of Hospital Pereira Rossell.
UNIQUER was nominated as a national reference center for highly specialized medicine in 2019. It provides coverage for children from the public and private health system. The donated equipment was part of the requirements established by the National Resources Fund for this type of center.
